I didn't have any real heavy healing skills tho. I was mainly boosting my Attack Damage, my base damage was pitiful but with all my holy powers it added bunch load of damage. The reason I sometimes got so very lucky one-shot kills.

The point I wanted to make is that about 2 summers ago around the same time we played Savage Worlds (I think?) I played a campaign with people from work and they we're really meta about the game. They had an idea of which way was more optimal to play. I was pigeon holed into the full blown healer. Wasn't a fun experience.

You see this happen in a lot of video games, you choose a character and you are forced to play them in a certain way. I see this a lot in League of Legends.

It's also another reason why I'm so pumped for Guild Wars 2, their doing some really cool stuff in the Roleplaying sense. You meet an encounter you don't trigger one. You can be a melee mage or whatever, it's up to you... ect...Martin Légerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02823590081222080265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-22089935093072596862012-05-30T15:25:27.843-03:002012-05-30T15:25:27.843-03:00Wait, didn't you play a cleric in our last Sav...Wait, didn't you play a cleric in our last Savage Worlds campaign?Siskoidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08266365376486695812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-14534305055753085172012-05-30T14:57:37.003-03:002012-05-30T14:57:37.003-03:00Nothing worst than having a class this is inherent...Nothing worst than having a class this is inherently boring like healers. Having played healers in video games I thought the jump to D&D would be fine. But, ugh, boring in roleplay battles.

It's even worst when you are pigeon holed into a certain way of playing a character.Martin Légerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02823590081222080265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-20759513695444393752012-05-29T16:51:21.357-03:002012-05-29T16:51:21.357-03:00On Google+, my friend Doctor Mi said this:
"...On Google+, my friend Doctor Mi said this:

"Great article. Most developers are looking into changing the inherited aspects of tabletop gaming that went into early MMO design. Look at Guild Wars 2 and their design manifesto. http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/combat/healing-death/
Even WoW is looking to cater to other playstyles than tank/heal/DPS with the new Scenarios announced for MoP.
