You'd think with Suicide Squad's recent movie that the idea of a guy with a boomerang would not be so unusual to the ladies.

With Box, they spent so much time comparing the two different versions (Box Red and Box Blue), but we only get to see the Blue version on the webpage. I understand there's probably a fair use line you're trying to stay on the right side of, but when the picture gets that much attention, I think it's safe to pass the "one page per hero" rule you've been seeming to stick to.

Your mouseover text for Brother Voodoo says "In the next Doctor Strange movie?" I'm surprised you didn't mention that Daniel (the dead brother) was in this first Doctor Strange movie. He was the original guardian of the New York Sanctum. So, Jericho could appear anytime now. I wonder who the ladies would cast?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-9234665906498559012016-11-16T14:29:52.425-04:002016-11-16T14:29:52.425-04:00For me, it's Rom Spaceknight and Marvel Two-in...For me, it's Rom Spaceknight and Marvel Two-in-One.Siskoidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08266365376486695812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-54321978399432810642016-11-16T14:25:43.856-04:002016-11-16T14:25:43.856-04:00Ah, it's been a long time since I read those, ...Ah, it's been a long time since I read those, so I guess I forgot it was Mantlo doing that. I generally liked Mantlo's stuff too (his Spectacular Spider-Man run(s) were great), but his Alpha Flight stuff just seemed to drag for me; it killed whatever momentum the comic had and (at the time) made me stop caring about the characters. But how can I stay mad at the guy who wrote the Rocket Raccoon miniseries?

Mike W.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-12157567725723330602016-11-16T09:51:49.663-04:002016-11-16T09:51:49.663-04:00That's how I remember it too. I generally love Bill Mantlo, but I really didn't like what he did with Alpha Flight at the time, though a lot of my problems had to do with the charcoal inking and color process on that era of the book. It just looked ugly. I think I would be less averse to the writing today because I've basically flipped on both Byrne and Mantlo since then, so I should try that some time.

Sort of what to read those comics with my girls now.Siskoidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08266365376486695812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-59934677777396474582016-11-15T23:38:06.002-04:002016-11-15T23:38:06.002-04:00Mike - In fairness to John Byrne, the messed-up re...Mike - In fairness to John Byrne, the messed-up relationship between Aurora and Box was developed by Bill Mantlo.Erichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00083091864939104540noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-42129658618831776972016-11-15T23:04:31.718-04:002016-11-15T23:04:31.718-04:00I'm a year older than you are. I liked the comments about Boomerang's costume; at least it wasn't that crazy red costume he wore in his debut in Incredible Hulk...it made him look like a circus sideshow attraction. Interesting observations about the screamerang returning; personally, I always wondered how he caught the razorang when it came back.

Siskoid, I love how they told you to go back in time and prevent John Byrne from writing all that depressing shit about Bochs and Aurora; I'm sure any comics fan can think of something we'd like to erase from continuity.

By the way, I hadn't realized the girls were so young, but I think I must be pretty close to you in age, Siskoid, considering how you refused to say how old you were in the 90s :) (I graduated high school in 1990, so I'm no spring chicken.)

Mike W.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-5938909647007324802016-11-15T22:09:50.403-04:002016-11-15T22:09:50.403-04:00Amelie's alarm for her birth control had just ...Amelie's alarm for her birth control had just sounded, hadn't it?Siskoidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08266365376486695812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-26277574900824623102016-11-15T16:28:17.774-04:002016-11-15T16:28:17.774-04:00Another outstanding episode...the laughter is cont...Another outstanding episode...the laughter is contagious!

I have to wonder whether the ladies will retract the "Hot" verdict for Aurora now that they've learned how she treated poor Roger Bochs...

Incidentally, I was re-listening to some past episodes, and I was just wondering...what prompted Nathalie's "Don't Get Pregnant" song at the very end of the Asp-Attilan episode? It didn't seem to have anything to do with any of the characters or concepts discussed. (Of course, I understand that it's been so long since that particular episode, even she might not remember what brought it on...)
Erichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00083091864939104540noreply@blogger.com
