I also thought it was surprisingly Holmesian despite the action movie trappings (which weren't as bad as the trailers had led me to believe they'd be).Austin Gortonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14281239771248780430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-54975244476053940752010-01-04T11:09:18.737-04:002010-01-04T11:09:18.737-04:00I hope to read your thoughts on The End of Time so...I hope to read your thoughts on The End of Time soon. My bad.

Playing with the origin myth, it would seem, definitely throws a wrench into the Batman storyline--simply because of their close relationship.

I did dig Batman's new accessory in Red Son.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm202/Slayen2k/CossackBatman.jpgProf. Sci-Fihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03401143737426041046noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-26888270689019962772010-01-03T23:27:16.793-04:002010-01-03T23:27:16.793-04:00I'm now talking about a whole OTHER story, whi...I'm now talking about a whole OTHER story, which was told in Adventures of Superman Annual #something, when all the DC Annuals that year were Elseworlds.

The revisited the concept, not the timeline.Siskoidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08266365376486695812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-69596278185440188022010-01-03T23:23:13.191-04:002010-01-03T23:23:13.191-04:00So Kal-El eventually followed his father and fough...So Kal-El eventually followed his father and fought the Kryptonians? It's interesting to contemplate what repercussions would occur from a "bad" Superman. Interestingly enough, while the results are similar between this comic and Red Son, the motives are different. So I think there's a lot to be said for motives and circumstances when dealing with "alternative" Supermen. I guess we saw that after he died as well.

But I do think you're point is well taken--playing with the Superman origins story is a bad move. The whole house of cards falls.

It's def. an interesting story.Prof. Sci-Fihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03401143737426041046noreply@blogger.com
