I'm guessing that the final edit was done late, because it's pretty obvious when watching that "Everyone is going to die TO BE CONTINUED oh no they are fine" doesn't work at all.LiamKavhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01996095233681105682noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-2741869482032818112013-11-06T10:17:39.853-04:002013-11-06T10:17:39.853-04:00In this particular case, I think she's not Obt...In this particular case, I think she's not Obtuse Jackie. In some ways, the AoL/WW3's function was to redeem the Powell Estate supporting cast and take them away from the comedy stylings of their first appearance. Both Mickey and Jackie actually get in on the action and for the most part have realistic reactions. I don't think they ever go back to Rose-level comic relief.Siskoidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08266365376486695812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-41615962295353855102013-11-06T10:07:30.097-04:002013-11-06T10:07:30.097-04:00Jackie doesn't get nearly enough credit for be...Jackie doesn't get nearly enough credit for being a solid character who does her best under trying circumstances. No, she's not made for a TARDIS-y lifestyle, but I wouldn't be either, nor would most viewers.

The writers play her for laughs a little more than I like -- I understand they want to keep it light lest she become nothing more than the worrying mom, but they go out of their way to make her obtuse, and it's gratuitous.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-1783918872496486182013-11-06T09:42:42.651-04:002013-11-06T09:42:42.651-04:00Definitely, and it only gets worse when Tennant ge...Definitely, and it only gets worse when Tennant gets the role.Siskoidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08266365376486695812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-68455199516857405252013-11-06T08:29:02.078-04:002013-11-06T08:29:02.078-04:00Sometimes the solutions do seem a bit Deus Ex Doct...Sometimes the solutions do seem a bit Deus Ex Doctor.
