I stayed away from this because I'd read some interviews with the creators talking about how they were going to take Smallville's "No Flights, No Tights" rule to the extreme and downplay the comic book stuff as much as possible.

Yet it sounds like there's a crap ton of it, even in just a few episodes.Austin Gortonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14281239771248780430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-30942463944225404772012-10-23T13:30:32.175-03:002012-10-23T13:30:32.175-03:00A name like that here and there, sure, but EVERY n...A name like that here and there, sure, but EVERY name is either a capitalized common noun OR a reference to a Green Arrow writer. OK, Smoak is odd, even while I know it from Firestorm. But Queen, Hunt, Steele, Lamb? Perhaps they're more unusual over there than here in the UK, but I know folk with each of these. As for Nocenti, Diggle and the rest, well, they're real names and unremarkable if you've come across them. What do you consider non-unusual surnames? Probably half of all names I hear in non-Brit dramas are unfamiliar, but I just accept them. Well, part from perhaps Kate Monster in Avenue Q.Martin Grayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09574149543260175962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-30078755916789741732012-10-22T16:57:35.653-03:002012-10-22T16:57:35.653-03:00Can't or WON'T?!Can't or WON'T?!Siskoidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08266365376486695812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-35205555058048273932012-10-22T16:06:27.513-03:002012-10-22T16:06:27.513-03:00"So when does Oli get to walk in on her shoot..."So when does Oli get to walk in on her shooting up smack?"

Somehow I can't imagine Ryan Reynolds turning up as Hal Jordan and doing that cover...Craig Oxbrowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16388821789251515974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-42310935156709962262012-10-22T15:27:32.909-03:002012-10-22T15:27:32.909-03:00I'm not sure how close the structure will hold...I'm not sure how close the structure will hold (Hamlet Sr. has a long revenge list, for example), but you can at least use other commenters' enthusiasm at face value.Siskoidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08266365376486695812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-83800089818642682392012-10-22T13:59:12.906-03:002012-10-22T13:59:12.906-03:00I'm only peripherally familiar with the comic,...I'm only peripherally familiar with the comic, so I wasn't going to watch this - but if it's modeled on Hamlet, I'll have to start. If her name is Dinah, call her Dinah. They don't need to have it as a throwaway line to get me salivating. The show is good enough without them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37940560.post-50353682181762190792012-10-22T10:07:55.716-03:002012-10-22T10:07:55.716-03:00I absolutely love this show so far and Ollie has m...I absolutely love this show so far and Ollie has my undivided attention each week before Supernatural starts. I love that they are actually sticking to the comics and making it as close as possible without being a complete rehash of the entire story. I can’t wait for the next episode of the show and I even have my coworkers at DISH watching it, and they don’t even read the comics. I am recording every episode with my Hopper so that I can re-watch them all after the first season is done. I can’t wait for this week’s episode, and that is one think you were dead on about: Deadshot needs to be done perfectly!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
