Candy: A young girl's perfect role-model

Hey girls, have you met CANDY? From 1947 to 1956, for 64 issues, she was America's Favorite Teen-Age Girl. And I don't think her MESSAGE has gotten any less relevant since then. Thanks to the fine work done by QUALITY COMICS back in the day, Candy remains a strong role model for today's "YOUNG WOMAN", especially in matters of snagging that "SPECIAL SOMEONE" and becoming his "BALL AND CHAIN".

So how DO you net that fish? Candy cannot stress enough the importance of HINTING.

Don't forget to make him JEALOUS.

Even if you have to SKANK IT UP.

VARIETY is the spice of life.

But don't be afraid to indulge in the DOUBLE STANDARD.

Get rid of the COMPETITION.

If the competition shows up, do WHAT YOU MUST.

Remember girls, NO means NO.

And if you catch your SPECIAL MAN in a compromising POSITION, don't make a big FUSS. You don't want to ROCK THE BOAT and lose that FISH for good!

And so Candy SIGNS OFF with a special BONUS MESSAGE OF WISDOM about something she DEEPLY cares about: SUPPORTING her fellow WOMAN.

TRULY, words to live by.

Sorry but la vraie de vraie Candy, elle était blonde... mais bon, elle cherchait quand même son prince charmant...

"oh pays, de Candy, comme dans tous les pays...on s'amuse on pleure on rit.........."

1947... The Japanese were picking themselves up from a couple of little bombs and hadn't invented anime yet... So I'm guessing THIS Candy is the original!

Quand je dis la "vraie" Candy, ça ne veut pas nécessairement dire l'original. J'avais deviné que le comic était plus vieux.

Mais à mes yeux, candy la blonde sera toujours Candy. Candy en brune asteur...pfff
