Look what I got!!!

I could have waited til This Week in Geek on Sunday to tout my purchase of Showcase Presents: The War That Time Forgot, but well, then I couldn't have used an upside down helicopter vs. giant pterodactyl battle royale tonight!
And so is met my committment to Bahlactus, the World Devourer who makes us fight every friday night!

DC: New Frontier sparked my interest in some of these old DC science-fiction/war comics (Darwyn Cooke's excitement is catching). Which notable characters or teams appear in The War That Time Forgot? Is this connected to the Great Disaster series, or is that separate?

The War That Time Forgot reprints all the Kanigher/Andru stories from Star-Spangled Comics that feature Dinosaur Island.

I think the original Suicide Squad is in one of them, but there are no real recurring characters. Just G.I.s that have made a wrong turn on the map somewhere.

No relationship to The Great Disaster, since that's supposed to be various apocalyptic future comics, like the Atomic Knights and, I'm hoping, Kamandi.
