Friday Night Fights: Sucker punch #7

Tonight's fight (sponsored by Bahlactus, the Devourer of Blogs) is a homage to Aquaman co-creator Paul Norris, the man who first drew the trademark orange chainmail shirt and who died this week. Thank you Mr. Norris and so from this landlubber to you, a swimmer in Mother Ocean, some hardcore Aquaman action by Kupperberg, Patton and Tanghal who, like me, owe you a debt of gratitude.Aquaman don't care if you've got a seniors discount at Pets Unlimited.
Shut up Zatanna! Like Aquaman didn't push that pillar on him.

Proof:
Aquaman's reaction.

And that, my friends, is what I call a very underhanded SUCKER PUNCH!

Aquaman: Hardcore before the beard, you better believe it.

  2. yellow gloves--40s up to around Adventure #260 or so.

anyway, nice pick. Aquaman is bad-ass, he just doesnt go around talking about it all the time like Bats does.

  3. When Mutt said this, I immediately went to your Paul Norris homage and those pages had Aquaman's gloves as green, so I was all, like, confoozled! Recolored Archive?

  4. yep, theyve been recolored for certain reprints. Aquaman's gloves are even yellow in Brave the Bold #28--they flopped back and forth for a while, finally settling on green, and this is where DC historians separate the E-1 Aquaman from the E-2 one.

...wow, knee-deep in the big geeky right now.

  5. Don't worry about it Rob, I DREAM in geek.

Just this morning, I dreamt that wherever my dream was taking place, there were three little girls dressed in Aquaman costumes. I was wearing an Aquaman shirt. I looked for their mother to ask permission to take a picture of the triplets to send to the Aquaman Shrine, but couldn't find her. And then the girls were gone.

I wish I was making it up. I really do.

  6. For the record Siskoid, if that dream was subset in reality, the mom might of seen you dragging her kids around with a camera and gotten them far away from you when your back was turned.
