Blogster Gold

With the return of Blue and Gold in Booster Gold #6, it's looking more and more like BG is being written like a blog. After all, the biggest "save Blue Beetle" advocacy group has to be found on the blogosphere. But it's more than that...

The premise is in blog format. Booster Gold travels to various eras and events in the DC Universe, just like bloggers daily revisit old comics. You say tears in the timestream, I say my blog's sidebar.Like the blogosphere we get a lot of nostalgia, running commentary, and quite a few theories.
Beyond that, Booster Gold the comic seems to have some of the same opinions as the blogosphere. I made a point of mentioning the first issue's Metlzer/JLA commentary and poking at both Infinity and Identity Crisis, but it hasn't really stopped since then, has it? Taking shots at Danny Chase. Calling events by their crossover name (i.e. "The Blackest Night" and "World War III"). And I can't even process the following scene without thinking of blogger outrage over such things as overused eye color:
That's Booster's ancestor, Rose Levin, by the way. Not just a Lois Lane clone, it seems. Actually, she's... wait for it...
A BLOGGER! But of course, all the characters can be defined as blogger archetypes: Daniel is the lazy geek, Rip is the rant artist, Skeets is the snarky humorist, and Booster is the enthusiastic lover of all things DC.

In the latest issue, Booster makes a grand homage to the Blue Beetle, which isn't unlike some of the love letters I've seen on the internet, and ultimately, the bloggish comments, features and theories take a dive into blogger fanfic by resurrecting blog favorite, Ted Kord. I'm not saying that as if it was a bad thing. I'm one of those bloggers rooting for Ted to be alive by the end of "Blue and Gold". I think wish fulfillment is a big part of this series. Just as a blogger can choose to look at any comic ever made, so can Booster Gold.
Yes. Yes, it is.

Agreed.

The Booster Gold comic is the opposite of the Superman Prime character.

Prime is a thinly veiled attack on the excess hatred by some comic fans.

BG is about the love and fanwonkery of comic fans.

I...I...oh God, it's all TRUE!

And you know what? I don't even care if Geoff Johns has his tongue firmly in his cheek, because this is one of the books that I really do look forward to every month.

They should really do a crotch-gate meme or something. Then the parallel would be complete.
Who or what is the Blogster Gold Key and how did I get to be #3?

If Booster Gold is the Blogosphere, then issue #3 starring Jonah Hex is your excellent Matching Dragoons blog.
Ahhhhhhh, now I understand.

Next week: Me vs. a bag of hammers.

That's the set-up for a Friday Night Fight if I ever heard one!

I'd pay to see that, Dwayne.
