2d4 Features the Gary Gygax Memorial Statue Should Definitely Have

Gary Gygax's widow is actively seeking to have a statue of her husband erected in his hometown of Lake Geneva, home of Dungeon&Dragons, a fine homage to the man who made us think of dice differently (among other things, of course). But how could that homage be just a little sweeter? Roll that dice, son!

2 - Answer the riddle on its base and it moves to reveal the entrance to the Temple of Elemental Evil.

3 - It's electrified (3d10 damage)

4-5 - It has a big broadsword. Mrs. Gygax correctly wants it to be tasteful. Broadswords are tasteful.

6 - It's built in front of an inn where you can easily get odd jobs from mysterious strangers.

7 - Elf ears.

8 - Player's choice. Comments section at the ready.

Indeed. Tasteless would be dual scimitars or maybe a bastard sword.

But a good ol' broadsword? Classy.

Put stone tables in front of it like they have in parks, only instead of built-in chessboards, have built-in square and/or hex grids, with a built-in DM screen at one end.

I like Matthew's idea.

On the other hand, how about statues of Gygax and Arneson, surrounded by menacing kobolds?

And maybe a large stone with a flat surface on top, which evangelicals can tell themselves is for players to make their human sacrifices to Satan.

OT. I was reading the core Dark Sun setting book the other day, and ran across a description of fields of "barley and whey". There are also entirely too many 4-legged insects.

Near the statue should be a gumball machine where people can buy 20-sided dice, preferably the softer original kind so they have to come back for more.

Also, he should totally be holding a magic staff that lights up at night.
