Have you seen the new Doctor Who logo? The one that promises to change everything (new logo = new opening sequence = what else will change besides these and of course, the cast?). Here it is so you can decide if you like it or not:The TARDIS initials are clever, though I've already heard grumbling from some quarters about the half-serifs and cheesy Photoshop flares. Come to think of it, there was a lot of grumbling about the first new series logo (in that gold eye shape). We all came to accept it (and for many of you, it was your first). Probably the 4th Doctor's diamond (TARDIS seen from above) logo will never be beaten, but each creative team can and should put its own stamp on it.
Of course the above logo was not the first attempt.
And seeing as Tennant will be gone soon:
What do YOU think of the new Doctor Who logo?

As far as the diamond logo, I see a lot of praise for it as the best, but I'm constantly mystified by it. It's an okay logo, but I don't find it particularly outstanding. I also think it looks a bit dated. The Pertwee logo, particularly the updated McGann version, is timeless and the best they've come up with so far, IMO.
But I guess they fell the need for some handwavy changes to distract us from the loss Tennant - who has proven to be one of the best Doctors ever. Debatable if he is the Best, but certainly one of the top ones.
But for me, the opening credits are all about the music. That's the part I'm nervous about.
As for the song, there's Muse's new song which sounds a quite like a Dr.Who opening (ignore the end which is commentary or something)
