Spaceknight Saturdays: How Brandy Proved She Was Worthy of Rom

Very close to the end now, and if Brandy and Rom are to have any kind of closure/happy/tragic ending (because I'm not spoiling it), Brandy has to prove she's worthy of the Greatest of the Spaceknights.Though she's been his love since issue #1 and a Spaceknight herself, things have really degenerated since then. Her stint as Starshine turned her into a cold and heartless killing machine, then she fell into a marriage of convenience with a dying Rick Jones and moved into a log cabin. To make things worse, Steve Ditko refuses to draw her with the perm. She's got to make up for it soon.

Last issue, the Beyonder (speaking of perms) whisked her off to Galador, and that where we start ish #73. It's a veritable paradise, as any fool can plainly see.
She skips through the flowers and birds and bunnies until she comes to a city, a devastated city. And she despairs. Is this really Galador? Is the Beyonder just a cruel trickster? Or did Rom lie about how great his planet was just to get it on with her? She doesn't have much time to drown in her own Marvel-sized angst however, because a Spaceknight known as Lightningbolt attacks her!
Dodging thunderbolts, she comes across the skeleton of one of the honor guard and grabs his Horn of Heaven (not a double entendre)...
...and downs the Spaceknight! Then, regular Galadorians come out of nowhere and finish him off.
What the hell is happening here? Brandy will only find out from a pirate girl in the underground.
She tells the tale of how, after Galactus moved Galador, they decided to create a second generation of Spaceknights to protect the planet. After all, they had no way to know if the first batch could ever find their way home. Their mistake was taking away even more of their humanity to make room for more firepower. Without that sense of humanity, the Spaceknights started killing every "inferior" being they found and will not rest until no regular Galadorians are left. Look at these bruisers:
Won't they need at least a few normal people for tasks requiring FINGERS? Now, they are at war with what remains of the population, an underground rebel group.
Brandy won't sit and wait for the end to come. She hatches a plan to take the stored humanity of the Spaceknights hostage and force them to surrender lest they never again regain human form.
Only she stands in their way, as the other rebels are all cut down. And that's when Rom walks in from a Shi'ar wormhole with a "WTF?!" expression on his faceplate.
His girl is here on Galador threatening to destroy the humanity of both Spaceknight generations! But she's miscalculated. The new Spaceknights don't WANT their humanity back.
Oh that's not cool!
