V for Vhat Happened to That?

Yeah, Siskoid, what happened to your weekly review of the new V series? Well, you see, what happened is Tuesday came, and I was sitting in the living room, and I sort of chose not to watch it.

Just like that.

In other words, the show failed to grab me within its first three episodes, and I was only watching it because I said I would on this here blog. Just trying to get rid of SOME obligations where I can.

Lacking access to a video extension cable that reaches across the Pacific to the USA, I bittorrented the first episode. I was thus minded to reach the same conclusion considerably earlier, thus saving myself the irritation of torrenting any episode after the pilot. How disappointing!

Well, it was doubtful that it would coast on more than nostalgia, and those doubts were realized.

It'll probably do better on DVD, where cliffhangers make you jump from episode to episode without having much time to think about the plot holes or keep up interest after a week. (Which was how I perceived Heroes Season 1.)

I have the "mid-season finale" episode on the DVR. After watching that, I'll make my decision on whether I watch the series upon its return. That finale episode better be awesome.

Since I was the one who asked you to see if it was worth watching, I feel a bit guilty that I might have made you watch a show you weren't enjoying.

Oh well. I guess it's Doctor Who and The Wire on DVD for the near future.
