Source: Robert Sikoryak's Masterpiece Comics collection (2009)
Type: AmalgamIt's Nietzsche meets Camus when Superman becomes an existential hero called The Stranger! Just one of many wonderful amalgamations of classic comic strips and great literary works by cartoonist Robert Sikoryak in Masterpiece Comics. I love this collection that also includes MacBeth as Mary Worth, Garfield as Mephistopheles, Kafka's Peanuts, EC Comics' version of Wuthering Heights (The Crypt of Brontë), Batman in Dostoyevsky Comics, Bazooka Joe strips written by Dante, and many others.
But I especially love "Action Camus", a series of covers starring an S-less, cigarette-smoking Stranger who cares not a jot because, well, it's all meaningless, isn't it?
Speaking of which: Happy Valentine's Day!
