Type: Red K transformation
By popular demand... This month's issue of Superman Family Adventures (a comic quickly filling the shoes of the late, lamented Tiny Titans) has a monkey called Titano swallow a chuck of Red Kryptonite that transforms him into a giant ape that shoots Red K blasts from its eyes. It's such a wonderful variation on the Earth-1 Titano, I can't believe it hasn't been done before. When he fires it at Superman, it splits him into a good (positive) and a bad (negative) version of himself that owes more to Superman III than to World's Finest Comics #126. The two Supermen are polar opposites, and like magnets, kind of repel each other. But amusingly, this Negative Superman has a Clark Kent (Kant) secret identity!
Despite their inverse polarity, Titano manages to smush them back together into a complete man who can be both positive and negative.
I have definitely NOT spoiled all the fun stuff in this Monkey Metropolis special, so if you're not reading SFA, I suggest you run back to the store. (And it's not the last you hear of this series in Reign, I haven't even done a piece on its off-canon Superman yet.)
