I was watching Prometheus earlier this week and it struck me how much Noomi Rapace (Sherlock Holmes Game of Shadows, the original Girl with a Dragon Tattoo films) looked like Carole Ann Ford who played the Doctor's granddaughter Susan in the show's first 10 serials. Look:
Carole Ann is still around and still playing Susan on audio, and the Anniversary special should definitely try to visit Susan AS Carole Ann Ford. It'd be nice to see what happened to her after she was dropped off on war-torn Earth. Even if it means she's a Time Lord, still somehow alive post-Time War (maybe it's finally time to let the Time Lords back into the universe; can't the Big Bang 2 have recreated them in an earlier, milder form?). But in a parallel universe where the show was rebooted, the alt-production team could, I think, do a lot worse than casting Rapace as the eponymous Unearthly Child. What do you think?
And what's REALLY crazy is that it would mean Noomi Rapace would have played TWO characters bearing a classic companion's name. Susan, of course, and as her character is called in Prometheus, Dr. Elizabeth Shaw! Coincidence? Or a wink at Doctor Who by a director who once almost worked as designer on a serial that had more or less the same plot as Alien? YOU DECIDE!

The first is that one of my DWAITAS players played Susan's second incarnation and her choice of actor is featured on special CCG cards I made as a season finale gift. IT'S THE LAST ONE ON THE BOTTOM.
The other is a post I wrote about casting a female Doctor, but Susan should grow up to become just such a character. LOOK HERE FOR THOSE.
