Another one already? Yes, because that's the only way to make sure it's not a one-off and that I'm committed to Comics Recollected, a nostalgic project in which I revisit, month by month, my early comic-buying days. Hope it sparks some memories of your own!

As usual, my thanks to Mike's Amazing World of Comics for his comics-by-release-date database, without which this wouldn't have been possible.
Don't worry, content for READERS tomorrow. ;-)

It's possible that I also got JLA 167 as a 'stale' book that month, and 168 during the same month, but as Whitman issues those could have come later.
2) I think I own that Action Comics issue, and I adore Gil Kane, but I don't think I've ever read it.
3) I picked up A issue of Captain Carrot, liked it well enough, and never bought it again.
4) Fuzzball = Q*bert + rhinoplasty. Q*bert had a nice cameo in Wreck-It Ralph.
Frank: 1) That would be cool. Gotta warn ya, I'm planning a third this week, and then more of a weekly thing.
2) I ended up reading the rest of the Brainiac saga (getting his new look in the Annual etc.) much later.
3) It's the kind of comic where if you've read one, you've read them all. Doesn't really trigger a need for the next issue. Except for Frogzilla, but then, it's my love of zilla-y things.
4) He's Q*bert, but I namechecked Pac-Man because that's what Chris' favorite arcade game looked like. Fuzzball in a maze with dots and fruit to eat. Or jump on.
