Reign of the Supermen #513: Superclown

Source: Superman Sunday newspaper strips (1947)
Type: The real deal
The newspaper strips had their Superman variations too! Like that time he became a one-man circus, complete with high-wire acts, lion taming and... clowning? Guy had a sense of humor about himself, check out that act!
Amusing. It kind of means anyone could be dressing up as Superman and doing this part of it. Except that when a mobster with a bazooka comes out of nowhere as part of a contest to see who will be Metropolis' next mob boss (sounds like an awesome reality TV show), Superclown easily survives though his balloon muscles don't.

Now I can't stop imagining one of those old Circus of the Stars TV specials starring DC superheroes and supervillains. A clown car full of Multiplexes. Someone putting their head inside Animal Man's mouth. And of course, the Flying Graysons (some may be Black Lanterns, I should warn you).

There was another Superclown. A parody of the George Reeves show, that was a regular feature on local tv legend JP Patches. See http://www.jppatches.com/page62.htm
