Batman and the Outsiders #14-15: Over-Critical Analysis and Olympic Fever Special

AS PROMISED! My unfair, critical reviews of Batman and the Outsiders have returned with an Olympic Special. Issues 14 and 15 take place during the 1984 Summer Games in Gotham City (don't remember that? Los Angeles was pisssssssssed for losing the Olympiad to America's Biggest Cesspool). It's the Winter Games now, I know, but tell me there's no connection between Sochi and Gotham. You can't. Over the next two weeks, we're going to go through these two issues thoroughly, though I've decided to stop posting every single panel as I have for the last 13 issues + Annual, if only for my sanity. Don't worry, all the best/worst bits are gonna be there, but this'll allow me to jump around and follow certain threads without interruption from others.

Stuff you can expect from these issues...
-Halo goes on a date!
-Geo-Force goes on a date!
-The other Outsiders may or may not go on dates!
-The worst idea for a power couple this side of Donna Troy and Terry Long!
-Maxie Zeus vs. Ronald Reagan!
-A crazy sort of kind of Dial H for Hero crossover!
-The Outsiders vs. the New Olympians in various Olympic events!
And all the bad writing and awkward art you've come to expect from this comic book series. Let's go for the gold, and if we can't, let's try for a podium, and if not that, maybe at least show up in the onscreen list of countries...

You think Markovia has a shot at a medal this year?

Markovia has a tough schedule for their basketball team; they've got to get past Vlatvia, Bialya, Khandaq, Qurac, Zandia, Badhnsia, and Kor just to make it into the finals.

On the plus side, they have an unusually large vampire population.

Also, at least three of those other countries have a surviving population too small to field a basketball team. :)

If the Outsiders are involved, these are Special Olympics, indeed!
