Revealed: "Siskoid" a Pen Name for a Team of Bloggers

It has finally been confirmed that the blogging entity known as "Siskoid" is, in reality, a handle used by a team of writers all working within the same style. The announcement was made earlier today when, after posting that he was trapped out of town behind a snowstorm yesterday and his area suffering from power outages, he nevertheless managed to post a large article this morning. In the face of aggressive reader backlash, a writer identifying himself as Siskoid issued a press release revealing "Siskoid" was in fact a shared identity, explaining the blog's prolific output over the last seven years.

"How do you think one person could manage all that?" asked the outed blogger bitterly. He then laid out how each member of the team would write to their interests and send in posts to a central editor who would insure a certain house style. "The Siskoid who does the Doctor Who reviews was, indeed, affected by Snowpocalypse 2014," explained the Siskoid who wasn't. "The storm broke down lines of communication between team members, and our comics guy posted directly to keep to our common schedule."

He was more cagey about how many Siskoids there might actually be, though writing analysis suggests the "editor" used to write the Star Trek reviews, and that the Siskoid who writes Shakespeare criticism is a complete different person from anyone writing regularly for Siskoid's Blog of Geekery, though his fingerprints are all over the Dr. Strangelove psycho-sexual article and the whole notion of "continuity bottles".

Despite the controversy, the "Siskoids of Geekery" hope readers will continue to enjoy their content. "It's not like it matters," said their spokesperson. "If you liked it before, you'll continue to like it." Onlookers were less enthusiastic about supporting a cabal of known liars. More as the situation develops.

The entire team is now safe and sound, back in their electrically-heated rooms. Thanks for all your kind wishes. It was a long five days.

I, also, had wondered about the sheer amount of content that the blog produced - but being somewhat divorced from reality I had always assumed that Siskoid was one person with superpowers of time-travel, duplicating multiple bodies, and/or simply not needing to sleep.
