Reign of the Supermen #535: Street Guardian Superman

Source: Kenner's Man of Steel line (1995)
Type: Toy/Elseworld
Apparently because of the 90s' love affair with trenchcoats, the obscure and not-all-that-interesting Superman from Adventures of Superman Annual #6 and Superboy Annual #3 (otherwise known as Clark Small) was turned into an action figure with Swinging Battle Chain and Armor Shield accessories (I never understood this kind of stuff - do toy companies have loads of strange plastic weapons lying around their warehouses they can throw on anything articulated?). This is a line that covered the Death and Return of Superman, including figures for Doomsday, Steel, Superboy and the black-suited Superman Reborn, but chose to produce THIS over the Cyborg-Superman or Eradicator! What?! The latter did become a Toyfare exclusive, and a disturbing one at that. I've got to show it:
Crazy. Street Guardian is just a waste of plastic in comparison. No wait. Not JUST in comparison.

Strangely, I always thought this would be a perfectly serviceable Eradicator costume... hadn't ever noticed it HAD a comics origin at all. Keen!
