Is there any breed of geek not saddened by the news that the great Christopher Lee became the late great Christopher Lee?
He was Dracula.
He was Saruman the White and a Tolkien expert.
He was Francisco Scaramanga, the Man with the Golden Gun.
He was Count Dooku.
He was Discworld's Death.
He was Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes.
He put people in the Wicker Man and lit the match.
He appeared on the Avengers, Space 1999, the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, the Gremlins franchise, The Tomorrow People, lent his unique, gravely voice to several high end video games, and by all account was as amazing a character in real life as he was on screen - a real life secret agent, in fact!
I guess Star Trek, Marvel Cinematic and Doctor Who fans can be saddened instead he never graced those universes with his presence. He would have gotten to them. He was an absolute genre fiend.
Such a huge and varied career, he'll be entertaining - and chilling! - us and future generations for years to come.
