Noooooo... I don't expect the Supergirl show to be horrible, quite the opposite! But if Lucy Lane is to be a member of the cast - and she will be, as played by American Horror Story's Jenna Dewan-Tatum - then my fervent wish is that she be a horrible, horrible person.
Granted, with Cat Grant also in the show, that's a lot of Superman mythos women with a "bad rep", and I don't expect the show to practice character assassination on too many female characters. I just wouldn't do. But I would still love for Lucy and Jimmy to have had an unhealthy relationship in the past. Like Silver Age Lucy, I want her to stick a dagger into Jimmy's heart each time he sees her, probably with another man on her arm, or TWIST maybe she came out of the closet since they dated and it hurts his manhood deep. SOMETHING to make Jimmy miserable. Because that's what Lucy is for.
Producer Ali Adler has said she won't be a romantic foil, because they want to explore a Jimmy-Kara thing, and she's a "woman's woman". None of that contradicts my ideas about the character. If you're going to use Lucy, I think she deserves better than to be either a reminder that the show can't use Lois, or an open door for General Lane to walk through!

Also, I really, really hate the modern 'space racist supervillain without a costume' version of Sam Lane and really hope that they manage to go somewhere else with the character this time. Anywhere else will do.
As for General Lane, yeah, a dreadful bore as an Eiling wannabe.
