One Panel: New Fun #5

From Jack Woods: "Damsel in Distress: Part 1" by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson and W. C. Brigham, New Fun Comics #5 (Aug 1935)

Ripped right off the cover, because in those early days, they just couldn't wait to get to the comics. A cover is just wasted space if you're just going to put a single large panel on it. It's just SPLASHY for no reason. You know, like those stupid BOOKS who make you wait for the actual TEXT until you're, like 4 or 5 pages in.

Jack Woods had the virtue of being a western set very late, around WWI. Also, of wooing girls without first introducing himself, and having his way with them while ne'er-do-wells had to listen while tied to his horse. Hey, that's how they rolled in the old-ish West.
