And here you thought glove-related retcons began and ended with Aquaman's yellow Golden Age gloves. Last week, I wrote about a letter in the Smallville Mailsack (come back when you're done snickering) about this scene from Superboy #95 (1959):
The letter hack questioned the teacher's choice of white gloves to handle coal, even as she was scolding him for soiling his hands with it. And *I* mocked the editor for pointing out those were cancer-giving asbestos gloves.
Four years later, in Superman Annual #8 (1963), a secret Crisis made sure the teacher didn't needlessly die as continuity adjusted itself:
Well, that's a mercy!
