From Larry Steele: "The Jenks Kidnapping Case: Part 5" by Will Ely, Detective Comics #16 (June 1938)
Out of context, it looks crazy, but there was a fire in that house, which explains this particular gangster's demise. Still, a funny visual.
From "Captain" Desmo: "Genghis Akhim: Part 2" by Ed Winiarski, New Adventure Comics #27 (June 1938)
While flying over Mongolia, Captain Desmo routs a band of fierce Mongols who were attacking an outpost of the Emco Oil Co. Later, he encountered the band at an inn. During a fight, Desmo was struck from behind and rendered unconscious. Instead of awaiting his fate like a good boy, he basically turns into the Golden Age Grimbor the Chainsman.
