Krypto #48: Dog of the Arctic and Other Tails

A few bits starring the super-pup this week... Starting with Superman #160, in which the Man of Steel is dosed with Gold Kryptonite dust and loses his powers, nevertheless races to the Arctic and parachutes near the Fortress of Solitude to find a cure, and almost from hypothermia, until Krypto comes across him. Does Clark's faithful sled dog get him to civilization in time?

Well, yes.

In the same issue, Superman becomes a "Policeman of Steel" for a day, which of course means Krypto is roped into the K-9 unit. Of course, it's mostly about making giant commemorative badges.

Even after Superman has to do real police work, not sure his dog thinks he did such a hot job.

Everybody's a critic.

Tracking back to Superman #159, an imaginary story where Lois Lane is sent to Krypton and become the Maid of Steel, that world's Krypto is, of course, a normal dog. Still an astronaut though!

And in Jimmy Olsen #68, Jimmy essentially becomes Matter-Eater Lad and saves both Superman and Krypto from Green Kryptonite.

Krypto's dog tags save the day, providing a lead coating to Jimmy's lethal stomach contents. Oh you never noticed Krypto HAD tags? Never mind LEAD tags that would melt upon reentry? Yeah, me neither. Shush now. It's not important. Shushhhhhhhhhh.
