I'm kind of surprised Dragon Man got more love than Doc Strange. The girls have interesting tastes. As for the Greenwich Village setting, I think it used to the centre for hippie/bohemian culture in New York, so Stan and Steve probably thought it would fit as a setting for a magical character.
