From Batman: "The Batman vs. the Cat-Woman" by Bill Finger, Bob Kane, Jerry Robinson and George Roussos, Batman #3 (September 1940)
Though she appeared in Batman #1 as The Cat, Selina Kyle's first "Cat-Woman" story has her in a life-like cat mask and orange dress number no one seems to remember. Considering the various slinky purple or black outfits she's had over the years since, I don't blame anyone for purging this thing from their memories. Unless you're auditioning for the Terrible Trio (and they don't open seats on the team for no reason, given the name), there's no call for it.

Thinking about it, her current costume must be in the running for longest lasting DC outfit. It's been around since, what, 2001? And it survived The New 52 reboot with basically no changes. Likewise, when it was used in the Arkham games it was pretty much directly the comic version without any "grittying up" that the other costumes had.
