From: Superboy (v4) #32-33 (October-November 1996), Superboy Plus #1 (January 1997), Superboy & The Ravers #10, 13 (June and September 1997), Superboy (v4) #43-44, 49 (September-October 1997, March 1998), Team Superman Secret Files and Origins #1 (May 1998), Superboy (v4) #53-54, #69 (July-August 1998, December 1999)
While alternative versions of Krypto do appear in the later half of the 1990s (more on these later), the unpowered white terrier in Superboy's retinue continued to have adventures/moments. None of which REALLY entailed warming up to Superboy.
Often he would just offer comfort to Roxy when things went bad (snow in Hawaii?!).
There was the time he met Captain Marvel Jr. and took a shine to him.
And the time he met the Ravers...
...among whose number was Rex the Wonder Dog. I'm afraid Krypto wasn't the dominant alpha in that team-up:
But ultimately, he's a lover, not a fighter.
Or maybe I should say a yapper.
Yes, quite the yapper.
This is the number one reason I prefer cats to dogs, guys.
In another adventure, Krypto used his yapping skills to awaken Superboy from a super-wet dream.
He's also good at making you drop stuff.
A Secret Files story shows him in flashback, but you can tell he's being misremembered. He's way too happy to see Superboy.
No, really, it would be proper to say he was really Roxy's dog.
But it's not all about cuddling in her arms in every appearance. He once disarmed a Minotaur!
And did his business in the Whiz Wagon!
What. That's what it's for. Says so right on the tin!
