Krypto #129: The New Adventures of Krypto

From: Superman: The Man of Steel #112 (May 2001)

Krypto's first adventure coming back to ongoing continuity is entitled "The Adventures of... Krypto!", but he doesn't make it past page 10 before other plots crash in and the super-pup isn't seen again for a couple months. What gives, writer Mark Schultz?! I guess he's just easing us into the idea that Lois and Clark have a super-powered pet now. And if you've ever had a pet, you know they can on occasion be destructive. And that's without super-powers...
While Clark looks for a better housing situation (whisper: asteroid doghouse) so he can save his marriage, he puts a cape on Krypto and allows him to burn some energy.
Good news, Krypto likes Jimmy!
That's one potential dog sitter. But I have to wonder. If Superman wants to keep Krypto under wraps for now (that's some Supergirl secret weapon bull right there), should he have been playing fetch with him above Metropolis? In fact, even IF he didn't want to hide the fact that he had a super-dog, isn't it a bit dangerous to test that dog's abilities in the city?

Well anyway, Supes gets a call from Maggie Sawyer and Krypto is sent home to eat the couch or something. Not much of an "adventure". Maybe he'll do better next time. In fact, I know he will.
