Krypto #133: Casual Combat Krypto

From: Superman: JLA #57 (October 2001), The Man of Steel #119 (December 2001)

So can Krypto now be used casually in any Superman story? Well, it appears that he can, especially (it seems) if Superman is calling in all cars. I mean, it's fun to see the JLA react to Superman's new pet, right?
But at the same time, Krypto should be more than a weapon. And that's the danger he's in at this point. When it's not White Martians, it's Jokerfied villains like the not-very-affected Eradicator during Joker's Last Laugh. It attacks the Fortress so of course Krypto is there (along with Kelex and the Superman robot renamed Chew Toy). Thing is, to the Eradicator, Krypto's alternate Krypton is a blasphemy to be eliminated.
Superman is still training his pup, but it looks like the tricks are very weapon-like.
Together, they capture the Eradicator, but what I really want from a Krypto story is a bit of sweetness. Do I get it? I do!
A happy ending, where a boy gets to fly around the planet a few times with his dog. Just for FUN. More like this, Superman writers!
