Special comics issues spared a thought for Krypto, happily. Not only does he appear on the cover to a Secret Files entitled Guide to the DC Universe, but also in an O'Henry style story about a non-super couple separated by their jobs. At one point, the guy, Gary, has a chance encounter with our super-pup!
Imagine living in the DC Universe and this happens to you.
The next month, Adventures of Superman celebrated its 600th issue (it started off as Superman vol.1, of course), so they published some fake newspaper strips. Joe Kelly and Carlos Meglia produced the 8th and final part of a Bizarro story in which the Bizarro ray is used to create Krypto's ultimate nemesis:
Hopefully, it was only full of water.
