From: Action Comics #823 (March 2005)
I'm guessing Superboy's training of Krypto is going better, because when the gigantic Repo-Man attacks the Kent farm, beats Connor down, and starts to rip Pa Kent's arms off, S-Boy whistles and our boy Krypto is THERE! And he means business!
Yeah! Broke the skin! Superman arrives and ends the fight, the Repo-Man shrinks back down to his 90-pound weakling self, and Superboy finds the Gold Kryptonite that seems to be key to the man-monster's power. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to have its Silver Age properties, or else the Heroes of Steel would be left powerless forever. Still, to be on the safe side, Krypto uses one of his super-dog powers and digs a deep hole to drop the crystal into.
You gotta do what you're good at.
