From: Solo #12 (October 2006)
In 2000 AD artist Brendan McCarthy's fevered dreams (actually, Saturn Girl's), Krypto is a clerk at The Shop of Hope, a supermarket/comic book store where the lead of the framing tale, the hermaphroditic Duke Hussy, gets his groceries and reading material. Though Krypto's been moving a lot of copies of The Lord of Nothing comic, Hussy will regret his purchase. It's too bleak and depressing for the Duke. So maybe we shouldn't follow his recommendations next time.
Also part of that conversation, Hussy's condescending broach/inner identity "Sir Slapalot" who initially pushed the Duke into picking up the title, getting a growl from the Canine Clerk of Steel.
No one but McCarthy could make this stuff up.
