From: Wednesday Comics #1-12 (July - September 2009)
In Wednesday Comics, Palmiotti and Connor gave us a pretty hilarious Supergirl comedy in which Krypto and Streaky misbehave with disastrous results, chasing each other across Metropolis, and doing bad dog and bad cat things. Pet owners will recognize their own little devils, but there's also the occasional cliché. I mean, do dogs really go for letter carriers?
Krypto makes puppy dog eyes at Supergirl so she can't stay mad. Off they go after Streaky who's been busy scratching trees down.
AND crashing planes, but we're not here to talk about Streaky. Supergirl brings her pets to various DC stars to find out what's wrong with them, including Dr. Mid-Nite, whose own pet owl gets in on the action, but not willingly.
After a battery of tests - and first aid applied to his feathery friend - Mid-Nite is able to ascertain that the super-pets are being affected by something alien in solar flare activity.
So it's a race to the sun's corona where aliens are dumping weapons into our solar system's furnace, and I don't want to spoil the ending for you. The only important thing is that it's been quite a day for Supergirl and her super-pets, and crashing in front of the TV is totally appropriate.
This, to me, is one of the most true-to-life panels in all of superhero comics.
