One Panel #434: Star Spangled Debuts

From Star-Spangled Kid: "The Bund Saboteurs" by Jerry Siegel and Hal Sherman, Star Spangled Comics #1 (October 1941)

Another new comic to pick up in August of 1941 is Star Spangled Comics, home of cover feature Star-Spangled Kid and Stripesy, created by Superman's Jerry Siegel! The strip kind of, sort of beat Quality's Blackhawk to the punch with the War Wheel.

Other features include Captain X, who is midway between superhero and aviator ace; the Tarantula, long before John Law got a costume with an actual spider on it; and Armstrong of the Army (who?!).
