Ikaris: It's interesting that the ladies note his costume as being "something different," when for those of us who are older comic fans probably look at his outfit as being proto-typical Kirby. He looks like he could fit right in with the New Gods, the Inhumans, or (if you take their helmets off) The Celestials.

Hmmm, the original X-Men aren't getting too many "hots", are they? Iceman did date girls for years in the comics (he dated Polaris before Havok did, and he had a girlfriend named Opal for a long time), but he was always depicted as having "girl troubles". I don't know if that's why they eventually decided to make him gay, but it reminds me of the way Obsidian was written in Infinity Inc., and he turned out to be gay too.

As for Iceman's powers, for years he was shown to just have a crust of ice around him, but in the early 90s when White Queen took over his body, she tapped into his unused potential and could turn his body completely to ice; I think after Bobby got control of his body back, he realized his full potential and started doing more interesting transformations.

Funny digression into mermaid sex in the FeMail Bag ... reminded me of a Playboy cartoon showing a lonely-looking mermaid sitting on a rock, reading a book titled "Fellatio".
