Interesting insights again this episode. I think Tony Stark did relapse into alcoholism during Denny O'Neill's run (from about issue 170 to 200) and Rhodey became the primary Iron Man. A lot of people don't seem to care for that run (and for me O'Neill's writing generally wasn't as good as Michelinie's), but I thought it was realistic to have Tony's booze problem reoccur instead of being shown and cured in one issue as you pointed out. As for the Iron Man armour, I seem to recall a brief period when some artist ... Tuska maybe? ... added a nose to the faceplate; it did not look good.

I think J. Jonah Jameson's first name might actually be John, like his son. In fact, I seem to recall him being John Jameson Jr., which makes his son John Jameson III ... but maybe I'm just imagining that. I agree with the girls about Spidey's "civilians" being important; I think Spidey has the best supporting cast in comics and it's one of the main reasons why he's my favourite character.
