Created by Jack Cole, Military #4 features the earliest work I've noticed (at the proto-DC anyway) of Mad Magazine mainstay Dave Berg! Berg joined Will Eisner's studio in 1940, after serving in the Army Air Corps, so he presumably knew a little something about planes. We're decades away from "The Lighter Side"'s dad humor.
I really like that these guys are still in stripped prison wear as they go off to fight the good fight.
