It's finally here! The seventh volume to act as companion to the 50th Anniversary Doctor Who sourcebooks for Cubicle 7's Doctor Who RPG - they covered the Doctor Who canon, we covered the extracanonical adventures from the novels, audios, comics, and more!
You can download (or just read) it HERE in high (printable) or low (computer screen) resolution.
But wait, "Volume 1"?! Yes, the Seventh Doctor's extracanonical adventures are a real beast thanks to the way the Wilderness Years started during Sylvester McCoy's reign as our favorite Time Lord. Virgin's New Adventures line of books took up the baton and ran with it in crazy directions until 1996's TV Movie changed everything, but still left us with a lot of Seventh Doctor material. Then when the BBC started publishing novels, Doc7 became of the "Past Doctors" they covered, and McCoy was one of the main Doctors of Big Finish's main range of audios. Never mind his sundry comic book appearances and - the official sourcebook did not deign to cover, but we did - Dimensions in Time! We really did need to split it into two volumes, and the demarcation line we chose was Bernice Summerfield's first appearance as the Doctor's main companion through the New Adventures line. Essentially, this is the Doctor and Ace sourcebook. Volume 2 will take us from Love and War to just before the TV Movie in terms of the Doctor's chronological life.
So what you'll find in this unofficial, not-for-profit fan endeavor is at least one entry from each Seventh Doctor novel and audio of the era covered, plus material from short stories, comics, etc., and even a few from the televised show itself (characters we felt had been neglected in the official book). You'll find people, monsters, places, dates, gear, the works, as well as a timeline that puts it all together, and adventure seeds, both original and based on the source material, for the prospective GameMaster. While I did the layouts, coordination, and editing (as usual), the lion's share of contributions came from Peter "misterharry" Gilham, without whom this project would be impossible. His proofreading is tops as well. With thanks to Chris Halliday for his contributions as well.
And of course, my personal thanks to everyone who's kept up with the project for the past seven years. It started as a 50th Anniversary project, but we're now at the 57-year mark. If you're interested in contributing to the Seventh Doctor's next book, get in touch with us at The Extracanonical McCoy (Benny onwards) bulletin board.
And now, a few pages for readers not interested enough to click the links, starting with the table of contents (click to enlarge), followed by a few select entries:
Enjoy!
