I'm with you on the Age of Apocalypse thing ... that's what finally killed the X-Men (and comics in general) for me. it took me years to get back into comics after that.

I'm not sure if you're going to include Lightspeed when you do your next round of updated looks, but you might want to skip her; they really went all-out on sexualizing her, even though she was still a teenager.

As for Living Tribunal, I seem to recall it showing up in Infinity Gauntlet to judge whether Thanos trying to supplant Eternity was wrong or not. Apparently, Living Tribunal was cool with it and didn't interfere.
