He may have been written and drawn by Morts, but Johnny Quick is no mort, no sir. Because the Flash was first, and somehow more popular - I say somehow because the art was horrible - Johnny might be considered a derivative surplus to requirements. But his strip had better art by far, a nice sense of fun, and a better secret identity/supporting cast set-up. The speed effects are simple, but I like them better than Flash being replaced by tornadoes all the time. Annnnnd while Jay Garrick is pretty cool in the modern era, he doesn't get to marry Liberty Belle (swoon!), so I'm a Johnny stan all the way!
