I'm sure they had plaid suits in the 1940s, but there's something very 70s - specifically, 1970s used car salesman - about the zoot suit he just done bought. Now I can't help but imagine "suited" heroes getting into the fashions of the day and dropping the "noir" three-pieces and fedoras (or in this case, turbans) they usually wear. That said, didn't the Question wear leather in the 80s?
