Sometimes, Thor doesn't think, he just acts. Like, I'd be a little wary of putting my hand in one of Loki's escape portals, because THIS could happen:
That said, Thor and Alligator Loki from Earth-13178 (I checked) REALLY HIT IT OFF!
Not to say they don't have disagreements...
But generally, it's a good deal for Alligator Loki.
