Another great episode. I figured the Serpents would get some love and yes, there were a bunch more additions to the team later on, including Fer-De-Lance, Coachwhip, Black Racer, Puff Adder, Rock Python, Boomslang, and Copperhead (some of whom appear in the Serpent Society entry in the 1989 Update, if you all live that long).

Sersi's hedonism in the Avengers wasn't really a prominent part of her personality, but depending on who was writing her, she did seem a bit man-hungry at times. Kitty's outfit and more mature persona at the time of this entry probably stem from the Kitty & Wolverine miniseries, where she went to Japan and learned to be a ninja in about a week.

The scene of Kitty carrying the rug through the Danger Room wall is just like Siskoid said: she was demonstrating her ability to phase things besides her own body because she was trying to impress the Professor enough that he'd put her back on the X-Men after recently demoting her to the New Mutants. (Which happened in issue 168, a story with the spectacular title "Professor Xavier is a Jerk!")
