From Commando Yank: "The Land Where Darkness Reigns" by Bob Hebboa, America's Greatest Comics #6 (February 1943)
Not the most recognizable Fawcett hero, but I gotta give it up to Commando Yank for growing enough of a beard to affect the coloring, in an era where this just wasn't done. Your iconic look was your only look. And how quickly? "Many hours later." Not even that. He gets hit upside the head, wakes up tied to a post. Still clean-shaven. "Fearful seconds later," a witch doctor sets a boa constrictor on him, and suddenly he has noticeable growth. Guy is HIRSUTE!
