It was 18 years ago today that I started this blog. Now, it's old enough to vote. At one or two posts a day (sometimes three in those early years), we've reached 10,737 discreet posts! If you're still reading - and I say this every year - thanks for stopping by. With new Star Trek and Doctor Who still coming out, I need to be hear to keep the reviews complete. And it's a good place to keep all my podcast announcements in order.
Year 18 Highlights
-By the end of the year (with just a little schedule shuffling), I will be done with my Blake's 7 coverage. It was 52 episodes exactly, so that seemed perfect for a year-long project. What happens to its slot in 2025 is still undetermined. I probably need to do more with comics, since this WAS at least half-and-half a comics blog to begin with. I'll think of something by Christmas, but I'll take recommendations under advisement.
-Based on having successfully crafted a Torg Christmas adventure in late 2023 for the Infiniverse, I put out two more last spring (the Infection Card Pack and The Book of Wonders), but a third, the White Zone sourcebook exploring Canada's polar region, was stymied by a writing partner ghosting me. I haven't managed to write his section yet, but I'd love to finish it in the next month. Stay tuned. But I also had to expend considerable energy on finishing the second Eighth Doctor Expanded Universe Sourcebook for the Doctor Who RPG (which is free to download and use), so it's not like I wasn't working on RPG manual layouts.
-On the podcasting front, I've really put pressure on my new Siskoid Cinema feed, which houses several sub-shows, usually with two episodes a month. FW Team-Up and oHOTmu OR NOT? are going steady. The rest are more occasional, at least for now.
-Otherwise, I've been keeping a bunch of open-ended series alive: Star Trek and Doctor Who reviews, One Panel (about to start on 1943), old and new ST CCG Rolodex entries (started on TNG cards), Who's This? (getting to the end of the G's), and of course, This Week in Geek and its capsule reviews.
So, what's next?
Like I said, I'm not entirely sure what I'll be doing with Blake's 7's slot next year. I feel like I've held back on comics and RPG-related material for lack of time/space, so that probably heralds more variety in the new year. As for podcasting, Siskoid Cinema's cushion means I can resurrect a show that seemed done, bringing it back bimonthly starting in April. I guess that's as much of a teaser as I can give.
So if you've been hanging around, please keep doing so. It's no fun without the eyeballs and comments. And I'll of course see you tomorrow. And the day after tomorrow. And the day after that...

It's not my particular area of interest, but perhaps, if you want more comic related content next year, perhaps a series of articles reflecting upon the journey of popular four-colour print heroes unto the silver screen, ergo, a critique of the relative successes and failures associated with adaptation laced with a few tempting salacious asides for good measure.
