From Uncle Sam: "The Jail Bird", by Al Gabriele, National Comics #30 (March 1943)
First, clever way to promote war bonds. Unlike Superman, Uncle Sam doesn't go into racist territory (YOU know what I'm talking about). Second, this is almost a faux die-cut cover out of the Golden Age! Almost, because it's a splash page, not a cover. And almost, because it doesn't show the page underneath (page 3). In fact, it couldn't without "ripping" page 2. But it's fun!
