It's been a few weeks since the second Disney+ Doctor Who series ended, and an indefinite hiatus is looming, but it doesn't mean we have to stop talking about the show. Specifically: Doctor Who shorts!
My reviews are meant to be all-inclusive, and I've covered a lot of shorts (call them TARDISodes if you like), both canonical and, I admit, not-so-canonical (some of those Lockdown episodes are rather silly), but not ALL of them... yet! So on every Wednesday then Monday once Star Trek reviews rev up again. So what am I looking at?
If a mini-sode features the actual actors playing the actual characters from the show, it likely counts. All those TARDISodes that prequeled one of the episodes (common in Series 2, 6 and 7), I've discussed them in the relevant episode and I'm not going through them again. A lot of the untapped material is from The (Blu-ray) Collection's new filmed intros, which I always wanted to cover. After that, I could be convinced to cover the many comedy DVD extras from the old collections, but we'd be straying farther from canon.
What we WON'T look at includes promo spots where the Doctor speaks to camera, either to announce new episodes, to shill for products, or appeal for charities. I'm unlikely to cover in-character appearances on other shows (say, Blue Peter, The Weakest Link, Tonight's the Night...). Basically, there needs to be a story for me to review.
As often as possible, I'll post a link to the video if it can be found on YouTube, and in terms of labelling, they will be sorted with the Doctors they are associated with.
So I'll see you on Wednesday with "The Shrink", starring the Third Doctor!
